This cancer care institute is a wonderful place to receive treatments. A family member of mine was diagnosed with cancer recently. The whole family was confused and didn't know where to start the process of looking for a proper treatment option. Cancer Care Institute made every thing easy to understand and gave us a break down of the options and with help of the doctors we were able to choose the best treatment option for us.

Cancer Care Institute is proud to announce that it has been awarded accreditation by the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO).The ACRO Accreditation review evaluated various business aspects including equipment, staff, policies, procedures and treatment compared to nationally accepted Radiation Oncology standards. A site visit review examined quality and efficiency of patient care, as well as appropriateness of radiation therapy equipment, professional performance and staffing levels. The reviewers report their findings to the ACRO board for final approval and accreditation.
ACRO found Cancer Care Institute to follow all accepted standards of professional practice in radiation oncology and awarded accreditation.

Our Philosophy
Cancer is a complex disease. Multiple medical specialties are involved in diagnosis, management and treatment.
Our goal is to help you understand your situation and show the latest research based options recommended for you. We will coordinate necessary treatment and provide long-term follow-up.
Radiation As Treatment
External Radiation
Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
Radiation therapy, including IMRT, stops cancer cells from dividing and growing, thus slowing or stopping tumor growth. In many cases, radiation therapy is capable of killing all of the cancer cells, thus shrinking or eliminating tumors.
Volumetric Intensity Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT)
Volumetric modulated arc radiotherapy (VMAT) VMAT is a type of IMRT technique. The radiotherapy machine rotates around the patient during treatment. The machine continuously reshapes and changes the intensity of the radiation beam as it moves around the body.
LUNG Symmetry
Lung Symmetry is a method of localizing the lung cancer that allows us to track the movement of the tumor as the patient breathes in and out. This allows us to shrink and conform our radiation volumes exactly around the tumor. This in turn, decreases the dose to the surrounding structures such as lung, heart, esophagus and spinal cord. This leads to decreased treatment toxicity and increased patient outcomes.
3D CT Planning
Cancer Care Institute has a wide bore General Electric state of the art CT simulation scanner, allowing the physicians and staff to be able to visualize the target area and surrounding organs in 3 dimensional space. This also allows our most advanced treatment planning system to make over 1 trillion calculations to create the most precise radiation dose plans using the CT scan obtained. This wide bore CT allows us to scan the patient in the actual treatment position, allowing for highly reproducible treatments.
Imaged-guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) is the use of imaging during radiation therapy to improve the precision and accuracy of treatment delivery. IGRT is used to treat tumors in areas of the body that move, such as the lungs. Radiation therapy machines are equipped with imaging technology to allow your doctor to image the tumor before and during treatment. By comparing these images to the reference images taken during simulation, the patient’s position and/or the radiation beams may be adjusted to more precisely target the radiation dose to the tumor. Some IGRT procedures may use fiducial markers, electromagnetic transponders or colored ink tattoos on the skin to help align and target the radiation equipment.
Internal (Brachy) Radiation
AccuBoost Applicators for Non-Invasive, Real-Time
Image Guided Breast Brachytherapy Delivery:
-
Avoids radiation to heart, lungs and chest wall
-
Lower skin dose and skin complications
-
Less toxicity and better cosmetic results
-
For Boost or APBI
Brachytherapy remains an integral component in the treatment of cancer in both an outpatient and an inpatient setting. It involves the placement of either permanent seeds or hollow needles into the tumor though which a radioactive source can irradiate tumor from the inside out. By placing these needles into the tumor, we can avoid irradiating surrounding critical organs.
